It only took a few short months after my family and I moved into our Clermont home when we I realized we needed a privacy fence.
We love our backyard, it’s great for the kids to play, we’ve planted some trees and flowers, and we really want to get a dog, making a fence a necessity. We also want our backyard to feel like an extension of our home. Somewhere we can entertain family and friends without the neighbors look in on us.
Because we live in a community with a Home Owners Association, we have to meet all the requirements set out by the HOA.
We drove around the neighborhood and looked at a few fences, they were made from either vinyl. We also asked around about which company to use. It was practically unanimous, Fence Central was the place to go.
Having a fence installed is a big investment. Choosing the right installer is an important decision. I didn’t want it to cost a small fortune, but I need it to last a very long time.
It turns out, vinyl fences have a lot of great benefits.
It is extremely durable in our hot, humid environment, they look amazing, easy to clean, come in a variety of different colors and styles, and they are affordable!
Vinyl fences are designed to withstand Florida’s strong winds and the thunderstorms. A vinyl fence that is properly installed and supported, should easily withstand 100 mph winds. Other materials can become projectiles during strong winds, causing major damage and serious injury.
One of the best things about vinyl fences is that they are easy to maintain. Just spray down the fence is a hose every now and then to remove accumulated dirt or grass clippings. That’s it! If by chance you get paint or a material that is more difficult to remove, it can typically be removed with a pressure washer.
Unfortunately, if you don’t follow your HOA regulations, you can be facing serious penalties and fines. Combined with fees, interest, and even a lien on your home, it can quickly become a very frustrating situation.
Fence Central helped us navigate the waters of our HOA. Especially the approval process by providing fence descriptions, site-plan drawings, specifications, and pictures to aid your communications with them. In our experiences, the more information you can provide to the HOA board about your plans for the fence, the better the likelihood that they will approve it.
