All of us here at Fence Central in Winter Haven hope you had a wonderful and filling Thanksgiving dinner. December and the Christmas season are right around the corner and that means starting to think about decorations and bringing holiday cheer to your home.

There are many ways to decorate your home for the Christmas season. Many people like to decorate a Christmas tree, hang lights from the roof, and hang a wreath on the door. Did you ever think about decorating your fence? If your fence is in the front yard, it’s one of the first things friends and family see when they come to visit your home. If your fence is in the back yard, adding decorations there can help to extend the holiday scene as a part of your entire living space.

Ranch rail, aluminum, and picket fences, in particular, make perfect spots for a little extra holiday charm, but you can get creative and add decorations to any fence your house currently has.

For fences with larger posts, such as ranch rail and picket, drape green or pinecone garland between the fence posts, leaving enough slack to let it hang down and create a scalloped edge along the fence. Tie large velvet ribbons at the fence posts to finish the effect. To make the garland unique, you can also hang plastic ornaments or stars along the garland.

For aluminum fences or other fences with a flat top, you can lay a think layer of garland along the top of the fence and decorate intermittently with pine cones, bows, ornaments, red berries, and ribbons.

We’d love to see how you’re decorating your fence for the holiday season! Drop by our office in Winter Haven or give us a call.
